Deane Bozeman-Athletic Clearance Instructions
Classroom behavior and academic performance are closely monitored.
Poor behavior or lack of effort in the classroom may result in consequences, including additional team discipline during practices or games. Continued disruption or failure to meet school expectations will result in dismissal from the team.
All practices and tryouts are closed to spectators.
Parents/Guardians are asked to wait outside the gym when picking up their athlete.
Athletes are responsible for communicating practice and game schedules to their parents/guardians.
Please note: practice end times are approximate and are not guaranteed.
The coach’s cell phone is for informational communication only.
Parents, guardians, relatives, and athletes should not call or text the coach regarding playing time, game strategy, or for general conversation. If you wish to discuss a concern, please call the school's main number or send an email to the coach to request a meeting.
Procedures for Addressing Concerns:
a. Call the school or email the Coach to set up an appointment. If the Coach cannot be reached, please leave a message and they will return your call.
b. DO NOT attempt to confront a coach before or after a contest or practice. These can be emotional times for both the parent and the coach. Meetings of this nature do not promote resolution.
Injuries:
a. As coaches, we have basic knowledge of sports injuries. However, we are not certified trainers or physicians.
b. In any injury situation, we will err on the side of caution. Our primary concern is the health & safety of our athletes.
c. If an athlete is under the care of a physician for a current or pre-existing injury/surgery, authorization for return to play will be deferred to the treating physician.
d. There are certain situations that coaches CANNOT allow athletes to return to participation. In these situations, only a certified medical professional (Athletic Trainer or Physician) can grant this permission.
